Established in 1976, Quirino State University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the rural setting of the large town of Diffun (population range of 10,000-49,999 inhabitants), Cagayan Valley. Officially recognized by the Commission on Higher Education of the Philippines, Quirino State University (QSU) is a small-sized (uniRank enrollment range: 2,000-2,999 students) coeducational Philippine higher education institution.
