 
 
 Established in 2011, African Rural University is a non-profit private higher education institution located in the rural setting of the large town of Kagadi (population range of 10,000-49,999 inhabitants), Western Region. This institution also has a branch campus in Kibaale and Kampala. Officially recognized by the The National Council for Higher Education, African Rural University (ARU) is a very small-sized (uniRank enrollment range: under-250 students) women only Ugandan higher education institution. African Rural University (ARU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor's degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation) in several areas of study.
