Established in 1906, Kyiv National Economic University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the metropolis of Kyiv (population range of 1,000,000-5,000,000 inhabitants), Kiev Oblast. Officially recognized by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Kyiv National Economic University (KNEU) is a large-sized (uniRank enrollment range: 10,000-14,999 students) coeducational Ukrainian higher education institution. Kyiv National Economic University (KNEU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor's degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation), bachelor's degrees, master's degrees and doctorate degrees in several areas of study. The Scientific Library named after M.V. Dovnar-Zapolsky at Kyiv National Economic University (KNEU) named after Vadim Hetman is one of the largest and oldest university libraries in Kyiv. It serves as a center for information support for education and research, functioning as a modern multi-functional library and innovative space for students, researchers, and communication. The library was established in 1906, the same year as the university.

The library holds a universal collection, including educational, scientific, popular science, periodical, reference, informational, bibliographic, and artistic publications in both Ukrainian and foreign languages, available in traditional and electronic formats.

The library fund consists of more than 1 million copies of publications. Approximately 17,000 readers use the services of six reading rooms annually.

Compulsory weekly classes for first- and second-year students include:

Students from first to fifth year have the opportunity to develop sports skills as part of the university's national teams.

The university holds an annual Spartakiad involving 12 sports competitions among students and teaching staff. Seven national teams participate in Ukrainian and international competitions.
