Established in 1636, Universiteit Utrecht (Utrecht University) is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the medium city of Utrecht (population range of 250,000-499,999 inhabitants). Officially recognized by the Ministerie van Onderwijs, Cultuur en Wetenschap (Ministry of Education, Culture and Science), Universiteit Utrecht (UU) is a very large-sized (uniRank enrollment range: 30,000-34,999 students) coeducational Dutch higher education institution. Universiteit Utrecht (UU) offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor's degrees, master's degrees and doctorate degrees in several areas of study.
