Founded in 1936, the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (National Polytechnic Institute) is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large metropolis of Mexico City (population range of over 5,000,000 inhabitants). This institution also has branch campuses in Naucalpan de Juárez, Ecatepec, Pachuca, León and Zacatecas. Officially recognized by the Secretaría de Educación Pública, Mexico (Secretariat of Public Education of Mexico), Instituto Politécnico Nacional (IPN) is a very large sized (uniRank enrollment range: over-50,000 students) coeducational Mexican higher education institution.
