Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México (Autonomous University of Mexico State) is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large city of Toluca, Estado de Mexico, Mexico. This institution also has branch campuses in Amecameca, Atlacomulco, Ecatepec, Temascaltepec, Tenancingo, Texcoco, Valle de Chalco, Valle de México, Teotihuacan and Zumpango. Founded in 1956, Universidad Autónoma del Estado de México (UAEM) is a coeducational institution and is officially recognized by the Secretaría de Educación Pública, Mexico.
