Founded in 1958, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the large metropolis of Mumbai (population range of over 5,000,000 inhabitants), Maharashtra. Officially recognized by the Department of Higher Education of the Ministry of Human Resources Development of India, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) is a small-sized (uniRank enrollment range: 4,000-4,999 students) coeducational Indian higher education institution.
