Founded in 1975, Helwan University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large metropolis of Cairo (population range of over 5,000,000 inhabitants). Officially recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Egypt, Helwan University is a very large-sized (uniRank enrollment range: over-50,000 students) coeducational Egyptian higher education institution.
