Larbi Ben M'hidi University of Oum El Bouaghi's Financial Aid Financial Aid

Yes

Université Larbi Ben Mhidi de Oum El Bouaghi provides financial aids in the form of university bursaries, which are direct support provided by the State to students. These bursaries have been revised several times since 1974 in response to economic and social changes. Initially, bursaries were allocated to all students to encourage higher education. After 1974, eligibility conditions were introduced.

The bursary can be granted if a student repeats an academic year once. However, academic delays such as changes in major, redirection, or discontinuation of studies for a specific period lead to suspension of the bursary. If the delay exceeds one year, the bursary is suspended and can only be awarded after a full year of academic success.

First Phase (Bachelor’s Degree)

  • 4050 DZD for students whose parents’ monthly net income is less than four times the national minimum wage (20,000 DZD). Applicable for total annual net income ranging from 0 to 960,000 DZD.

  • 2700 DZD for students whose parents’ monthly net income is less than eight times the national minimum wage. Applicable for total annual net income ranging from 1,680,001 to 1,920,000 DZD.

Second Phase (Master’s Degree)

  • 7200 DZD for the second year for students whose parents’ monthly net income is less than eight times the national minimum wage. Applicable for total annual net income ranging from 0 to 920,000 DZD.
  • For higher education schools, a similar bursary is allocated: 7200 DZD for the first year and 7200 DZD for the second year.

Third Phase (Doctorate)

  • Doctoral students receive a bursary of 12,000 DZD per month, equivalent to 36,000 DZD for a three-month period.
  • The bursary values for all phases are determined by ministerial and executive decrees: a joint ministerial decision issued on March 23, 2010, for Master’s students, and executive decree number 09-351 issued on October 26, 2009, for Bachelor’s and doctoral students.
