Founded in 1994, Universität Erfurt (University of Erfurt) is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the small city of Erfurt (population range of 50,000-249,999 inhabitants), Thuringia. Officially recognized by the Thüringer Ministerium für Bildung, Wissenschaft und Kultur (Thuringian Ministry of Education, Science and Culture), Universität Erfurt is a small-sized (uniRank enrollment range: 5,000-5,999 students) coeducational German higher education institution. Universität Erfurt offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as bachelor's degrees, master's degrees and doctorate degrees in several areas of study.
