Founded in 1867, Hochschule Mittweida (Mittweida University of Applied Sciences) is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the large town of Mittweida (population range of 10,000-49,999 inhabitants), Saxony. Officially recognized by the Sächsisches Staatsministerium für Wissenschaft, Kultur und Tourismus (Saxon State Ministry for Science, Culture and Tourism), Hochschule Mittweida (HSMW) is a medium-sized (uniRank enrollment range: 6,000-6,999 students) coeducational German higher education institution. The modernly equipped student housing facilities are conveniently located directly on campus, with the student cafeteria and various shopping opportunities nearby. The dormitories are maintained by "Studentenwerk Freiberg".
