Founded in 1867, Hochschule Mittweida (Mittweida University of Applied Sciences) is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the suburban setting of the large town of Mittweida (population range of 10,000-49,999 inhabitants), Saxony. Officially recognized by the Sächsisches Staatsministerium für Wissenschaft, Kultur und Tourismus (Saxon State Ministry for Science, Culture and Tourism), Hochschule Mittweida (HSMW) is a medium-sized (uniRank enrollment range: 6,000-6,999 students) coeducational German higher education institution.
