Established in 1775, Technische Universität Clausthal (Clausthal University of Technology) is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the rural setting of the large town of Clausthal-Zellerfeld (population range of 10,000-49,999 inhabitants), Lower Saxony. Officially recognized by the Niedersächsisches Ministerium für Wissenschaft und Kultur (Ministry for Science and Culture of Lower Saxony), Technische Universität Clausthal (TU Clausthal) is a small-sized (uniRank enrollment range: 3,000-3,999 students) coeducational German higher education institution.
