Established in 1971, MacEwan University is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the urban setting of the large city of Edmonton (population range of 500,000-1,000,000 inhabitants), Alberta. Officially recognized by the Ministry of Advanced Education of Alberta, MacEwan University is a large-sized (uniRank enrollment range: 15,000-19,999 students) coeducational Canadian higher education institution. MacEwan University offers courses and programs leading to officially recognized higher education degrees such as pre-bachelor's degrees (i.e. certificates, diplomas, associate or foundation) and bachelor's degrees in several areas of study.
