Founded in 1992, the Ministry of Culture, Media and National Policy of the Mari El Republic is a government ministry responsible for developing and implementing policies related to culture, media and national affairs in the Mari El Republic, which is a federal subject of Russia. The ministry is responsible for preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of the Mari people and for supporting the development of the arts, literature and other cultural activities in the region. It also oversees the media sector in the republic and works to promote the use of the Mari language and other ethnic languages in the region.
