Established in 1986, the Department of Higher and Tertiary Education is a department under the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development in Zimbabwe. The department is responsible for the development and coordination of higher and tertiary education policies, programs and regulatory frameworks in the country. Its mission is to ensure the provision of quality and relevant higher and tertiary education that meets the needs of the nation. The department also oversees the accreditation and quality assurance of higher and tertiary education institutions in Zimbabwe.
