O‘zbekiston Respublikasi Oliy ta’lim, fan va innovatsiyalar vazirligi

Established in 1991, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan is a government ministry responsible for the development and regulation of higher education and secondary specialized education in Uzbekistan.

The ministry's mission is to promote and facilitate access to quality higher education, foster innovation and entrepreneurship and enhance the skills and capabilities of the Uzbek workforce to contribute to sustainable national development. The ministry aims to achieve this by formulating policies, plans and strategies that align with the country's economic development agenda and by providing oversight, monitoring and evaluation of the higher education and secondary specialized education system in Uzbekistan.

The ministry is responsible for the funding and management of higher education and secondary specialized education institutions in Uzbekistan, including universities, colleges and vocational schools. It also regulates and monitors the quality of education institutions and programs, ensures that they are aligned with the needs of the labor market and promotes collaboration and partnerships between education institutions, industry and other stakeholders.

In addition, the ministry provides financial support and scholarships to Uzbek students to study abroad, promotes research and development in science and technology and supports the transfer of knowledge and technology from academia to industry.

Uzbekistan's education system has undergone significant reforms in recent years, with a focus on modernizing the curriculum, improving the quality of education and promoting innovation and entrepreneurship. The Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation plays a key role in implementing these reforms and in providing access to quality higher education and secondary specialized education for all Uzbek students.
