Hessen Ministry of Higher Education, Research and the Arts

Established in 1984, Hessisches Ministerium für Wissenschaft und Kunst - HMWK is the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and the Arts of the state of Hesse in Germany. The ministry is responsible for the administration and funding of universities and other institutions of higher education, research institutions and cultural institutions in the state. Its mission is to promote and develop science, research and culture in Hesse and to ensure that higher education institutions in the state meet high quality standards. The ministry works closely with universities and other stakeholders in the education and research sectors to create an environment that supports innovation, knowledge transfer and the development of highly skilled professionals.
