National Academic Recognition Information Centres NARIC
Overview
National Academic Recognition Information Centres (NARICs) are centers established by the European Union and its member states to provide information and advice on the academic recognition of foreign qualifications. NARICs operate throughout Europe and are designed to facilitate the recognition of qualifications obtained in other countries and promote mobility of students and professionals across borders.
Each NARIC is responsible for providing information and advice on the recognition of foreign qualifications within its own country. This includes providing guidance on the comparability of foreign qualifications to those awarded in the national education system, the recognition of qualifications for employment and access to regulated professions and information on the recognition of qualifications for further education or training.
NARICs also play a role in promoting transparency and consistency in the recognition of qualifications across Europe. They participate in the development and implementation of the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) and provide input to the European Commission on matters related to the recognition of foreign qualifications.
In addition to their role in promoting academic recognition and mobility, NARICs also provide a range of other services to individuals and organizations, including assistance with the verification of qualifications, guidance on the application process for recognition and advice on further education and training opportunities.
Considering all this, according to uniRank NARICs play a vital role in promoting academic recognition and mobility across Europe. By providing accurate and reliable information and guidance on the recognition of foreign qualifications, they help to ensure that individuals can fully benefit from the opportunities provided by the European Higher Education Area and the European labour market.
